Change

As a worker in the executive branch it is an incredible relief to no longer be part of the Bush administration. Above is my picture from inauguration...a spot so good that, with binoculars, I could actually see Obama give the inaugural address. I am really hoping we are not going to just nibble 'change' around the edges when real change seems to be what we need.

so exciting!
i must've spent close to 7 hours watching the TV between school and home (periods 4-7 at school, & the evening at home).

the babies in our room listened to the ceremony on the radio. the preschoolers in the building got to see it streamed live.

It's neat to see the secret service people up at the highest tiers of the capital, they really did a good job keeping things under control.

Lona, I hold you responsible, as a member of the Bush administration, for Guantanamo, the upwards redistribution of wealth, the war in Iraq, and the last eight years of smirking. You have a lot to atone for, now, as a member of the Obama administration.

Bill and Lona- good news, the past 8 years are behind us! (Even if nothing changes, time marches on- i think the change is coming more from the collective mental change, though) The last week of news has been my happiest in a long time; I have long been slogging through the cover of the New York Times, and now I'm happily reading. I just wish that Sam and Sofi were more into news reading. We did get Sam to wave "bye-bye" to Bush as we watched the helicopter carry him away.
